Greetings all!

This weekend sometime, I will be receiving a used Thunder Tiger DT-10 as a
result of a trade of equipment.

I've never owned a gas powered remote controlled vehicle before, and am
looking forward to running it for the first time!

This car, according to a 3rd party who knows the gentleman I traded with,
was purchased this past Christmas, and was only driven once. According to
both parties, I need to obtain a pull-starter, a glow-plug starter, and
fuel. All of which I can get from my local Hobby Town USA.

What I would like to hear is.....

1. Reviews from users of the DT-10... including opinions concerning
handling, speed, and other things

2. Advice concerning what needs checked on a used nitro car. For instance,
are there any precautions I should take concerning the engine, the body,
glow plug, etc!

3. Modifications... I want to know what can and can't be modified and/or
upgraded... i.e. a new paintjob design.

4. Owners Manual... I'm being told he may not have the manual for the
vehicle. Is there an online source I can download/view the documentation
concerning this particular car.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

I don't know anything about it, but you may find something here if you
haven't tried already:

You should hunt around the net a bit, there are lots of FAQs about Nitro
cars and it's well worth reading them.  Tutorials on tuning are an absolute
MUST too, tuning a Nitro car is very hard to get the hang of but absolutely
critical to keeping it running.

It doesn't have a pull start now?  Or did the previous owner break it?
Sounds a bit odd...

Yes!  Tons.  Join some of the online forums, you might even find some for
that particular car.  Generally speaking get Google warmed up and just keep
hunting and reading.

Painting isn't usually a problem, there are a couple of forums that
specialise in painting R/C cars.  Does it have the paint on the inside or
outside, cos that makes a big difference...?

No idea, get Google out again :)  You might find a nice chap on one of the
model-specific forums who is nice enough to scan it in for you.

I've hunted like a fox in a chicken coop! I keep running into sites that
SELL the car itself.

It was recently explained to me that he broke the string on the starter.

Have posted in online forums, but noone will respond to me.

I'll try that, but as I said above, no responses.
