Hello, I was wanting to get something for me and my kids to enjoy together, how much fun are these little r/c cars. What are the speeds and capabilities. Can you use them outside just like a regular 1/8th scale. I picked up a Wal-Mart truck last year and it is so weak and boring, it now just sits unplayed with. I am considering going off the deep end and just getting a tmax or a revo but if the little cars or just as fun and cheaper that would be cool as well. Thanks, Brad I stay away from a revo it is a great race truck but not much fun for just a backyard basher for u and your kids it would break easy. If u want somthing just to play with and can roll and tumble and jump without breaking get a ofna hodr 1/8 scale buggy they are built like a rock and come with a .21 lots of speed 50 mpr plus Buggy goes for about $250.00 RTR just take my advice spend the extra $25.00 and get a fail safe. Dependability will be most important to me in choosing the car. I will give the Buggy you speak of a look. Rob Brad: In my experience, the REVO can do both racing and bashing, but is certainly better suited to the track. However, it is extremely durable and parts are pretty easy to get. A buggy may be the best way to go in terms of price, though. A REVO will set you back about 4-5 bills and a buggy between 2 and 3 bills. Good luck in your search. DuraTrax Quake Kyosho Mini Z Monster SE and Mad Force Tamiya TLT-1 Max Climber & Rock Buster Losi has some as well.(Mini T) Team Associated I think has one coming. All ranging from approx $130 -$190+ Add more of course, for accessories. However for the similar pricing you may want to look at mainstream electric 1/10th scale buggies or stadium trucks. (i.e.Traxxas,DuraTrax,Associated...) I will agree a revo isnt for small kids. my 8year old daughter can keep it up right. its way too much. the quake is electric and can ru indoors so for kids that would be a plus. when the weather is bad out its 4x4 and shaft drive. its a nice truck and tough so it will g outdoors as well. only thing with e power i would stay inside if it wet out , unless you use aeroplate and waterproof the electronic -- rob25 thanks for the information, I have since settled on a nitro Evader ST. I have been flying planes for 10 years so the Nitro will be no problem for me. I just hope it is not to fast for the kids. With console games these days kids seem to pick this sort of thing up quickly.
