Looking for a radio with a steering wheel that has a longer turning distance
than my stock Traxxas, whose wheel only turns a little over 45 degrees from
end to end and my son has a hard time steering. I understand that dual rate
steering can help but I'm also looking for a wheel that turns farther. Any
recommendations?

I think they are all the same, so just get a radio that has steering
endpoint adjustment, so you can make it less sensitive.

Check that the servo is powerful enough, and use a longer servo horn for a
longer steering throw.  Also check that the steering works properly, and
isn't snagging when using the suspension travel .. ;)

His problem is the same I have come across. The
driver wants to rotate the wheel 100 degrees left and
100 degrees right, and real hard, which will break the
plastic after a few outings. I ran a hobby shop and
always kept 5 or 6 assemblies on hand. These were
real cheap and easy to change out. There is no way
to easily modify the mechanism.
