Yes, that is exactly what I did. I am running the stock spur with a 14t
pinion and it's a blast. I can see already that the stock driveline
parts are taking a beating, so I will be replacing the slipper and some
of the internal transmission parts with upgrades. I've always been a
nitro guy, but the brushless E-Maxx is better than my REVO when it comes
to fun. I don't have to worry about getting the engine running right
every time I take it out, and the off-the-line punch is so much better,
it's not even in the same league. The E-Maxx will spank the REVO in
acceleration hands-down. It's pretty amazing. Run times on GP-3300's
are probably in the 20 minute range while bashing around the
neighborhood.
After installing the brushless, I had to tighten the slipper down all
the way to prevent it from smoking completely. It just spins in second
gear unless you do. Also, the stock tires are garbage. I put the tires
from my REVO on and it's like a different truck. Great for street or
dirt bashing. I'll take it to the track with some pin spikes Friday and
see how it does.
Now, if Traxxas makes an E-REVO, I'll be the first in line because the
REVO's suspension is much better and I hate having to work on eight
shocks instead of just four. I hate to say it, but after driving both
back to back, I prefer the E-Maxx for overall fun factor.

Robinson Racing makes some pretty good slippers that actually work.
The Traxxas slippers (other than that on Revo and presumably JATO)
don't really work that well IMO.

I put Response tires on my Revo and put the Revo tires on the T-Maxx.
Shaving off rotating weight makes a huge difference in overall
performance.

The Revo platform is definitely more resistant to damage. I drive the
Revo and T-Maxx similarly and get *much* less breakage on the Revo.

I haven't had a chance to try the RR slipper yet. It went on fairly
well, but it wobbles. Seems to be a result of a poorly ground spring.
I doubt it will make any difference if it does.

The pin spikes were great at SoCal. I was ripping it up! The truck
really handles great, but I think I need stiffer springs for the track.
I bought some Big Bore shocks and will seek out stiffer springs as well.
Seems Traxxas does not make any other springs for the Maxx trucks? How
odd.

Yes, I broke a front upper arm and bent a hinge pin at the track Friday.
I sprung for the RPM arms and I have some titanium rod on order for
homemade hinge pins. I will hold them in with small screws like on the
RC10B4. Should work great and much cheaper then titanium pins with e-
clips (yuck!).
I also picked up a Bluebird 630 servo. Even my Hitec 625MG isn't enough
for this beast. I'm curious to see how the 630 does.
I've had alot of RC cars and the E-Maxx will be a keeper for sure, right
along with the MBX5, the B4, and the Revo.

The Hitec 625MG never had enough torque for a monster truck. I'd go
with the 645MG at the least. If you want speed AND torque, you're going
to have to turn out your pockets.

Do you get tired of shifting into 2nd from the controller? I always
wondered that.

Not really. I find I am not shifting that often. First gear works fine
for the track I run on (SoCal) and most bashing I do. Second is
reserved mostly for speed runs.

Somebody else's springs fit perfectly; I think it's Losi.
