While new to the US, it's been out in other countries. They have both
listed on the site so while the TF might leave, I doubt it will be soon.
Can't find US price for the TFS yet, but if the price over the TF outside
the US are any comparison I am guessing it will be about $350.
I did not think it was that odd. AE makes the RC10T4 and RC10T4 Factory
Team editions. Tamiya has done a number of special edition vehicles. Losi
releases a newer version of an old vehicle monthly it seems. It is a great
way to get interest into an older kit. Change a few things, give it a
snazzy name and all the magazines will do articles on it again and say, "The
best just got better!" I would really love to read a review that said, "The
thing is just crap and I feel ill from having touched it."

The best deal I have found here in Canberra, Australia is $AU450 but I
am planning to use Tower Hobbies instead which will bring it under
$AU350 including the postage. But now I am waiting for the Spirit to
appear on Tower's web site so I can see how much it will be.

That reminds me of a real car I own! Ever heard of an FSM Niki? They
are a Polish variant of Fiat.

The exclusive contract between Tower (aka Great Planes) and Kyosho is
ending, not sure if Tower will continue to sell Kyosho, but it will be a lot
easier to get it other places. Talked to my LHS, a Great Planes dealer, and
told him to order me a Twin Force. He quoted me $300. I told him he was a
bit off, Tower has it for $220. I will pay more to get it local, but not
that much more. He checked and sure enough Great Planes was selling it for
about $40 less through Tower then through their wholesale channels. He
called Great Planes today and they told him the reason the price was so low
is that they only had a few left and were unloading them. Last I heard they
were working on getting him a better price so he could sell it to me at a
price comparable to Tower. I guess the point is I would not wait on Tower
to get the Spirit.
Called Kyosho USA to ask about the Spirit. The guy on the phone confirmed
the Spirit was headed for the states and will be sold without ESC here. He
did not know when it could be ordered, but it was not available yet. He
could not tell me a price either. He did say that the RCX expo May 21-22
will reveal a lot of new Kyosho stuff so I expect it will be available then,
if not sooner. I did not want to wait so my Twin Force should be here this
week. Don't want to miss more gorgeous spring days then I have to. Along
with the TF will be an HV-Maxx brushless kit for it.
A Polish copy of an Italian car sold in Australia. I will keep my comments
to myself :)
Techpriest, just another arrogant American.
