Its cool but exspensive! The rustler is just fine.I wish traxxas would
concentrate on a new 1/18th scale truck.Everyone else is...just my $ .02

Well its hardly like a revo at all. 2nd just another ST really. Will
need options $$$ just to run fairly with other ST. 3rd From the RCCA
test it came in much lower than the 55mph claim but not many vehicles
they test actually hit the claimed speed. 4th Looks to be quite cramped
so time will tell if its difficult to work on.

Traxxas up to their old not tell the whole story. They compare the
speed saying its "best in class". The Jato is 2-speed 2.8"rims though
against 1/10 ST's with single speed 2.2" rims. I wouldnt say they are in
the same class cause 1/10 ST has certain rules to be in the class. Oh
traxxas left out the 1/10 ST  with 3-speed that goes 65 or so.

I just read another mag review. The top-speed they got (48mph) was
slower than the RCCA speed. They gave the test conditions as like 66
degrees and 34% humidity. Pretty much ideal conditions  there.
Now the reason Im picking on the speed issue is thats what most of the
hype has been about, Traxxas claim and their chart. People saying its a
rocket, super fast. Yet there have been MT's clocked faster by the same
mags.

Now overal both mags rate it high with like RCCA giving all 9 I believe
and XRC giving it some 8's cant remembr what for though. Might be low
speed turning.

48 mph is only around the same speed as the old Nitro Rustler anyway.

I just don't get this Jato thing ..... if you want speed, you can get a NR
for less money, less maintenance and it will be as fast or faster.

And with the JATO you are in non-standard wheels and tyres territory ......
I just don't see the attraction.

I've been reading up on the Jato, and I'm really interested in it.
It'll be my first Truck.

I've read of people removing the EZ-start system that comes with it
Why do you think that is? I can understand weight concerns, or makin
room by removing it, but isn't it Super Convenient? I'm a newb so
wouldn't know. Any thoughts

You got it.  Less weight. Also it makes for less maintenance/complexity.
A lot of people use pull starts or bump boxes exclusively, just out of
habit.

A starter box is not a habit. Its reliable! Plus if you were smart you
would get a panel to power a glow starter. You are able to increase the
voltage to the plug thus providing faster, reliable starts.Plus you can
always use a car battery as the source for power.
I guess the starter box sets the rookie away from the pro.Its also a
power supply for charging. And just very reliable.

funny thing about power panels - when they go bad, they tend to zap the glow
plug.  I loved it until this started happening.
