Savage durability?

Due to .21 TMaxx conversion problems..if my Maxx breaks after this next
upgrade I am probably going to sell it and purchase a new updated HPI Savage
25 RTR...
I've read quite abit lately on the Savage 25 RTR..but, was curious to what
owners have experienced as far a durability, and what are what you would say
are necessities for it?...
Other than upgrading the brake nut/collet and adding in the new engine stop
and maybe a center skidplate and possibly 4.6 camber adjustable arms...
What breaks on it the most, if anything?
How reliable is it with reverse or how reliable is the reverse module?
Heck, how reliable is the tranny..period?..I know the updated models have
the new 4way spider diffs which I like...
I like my .21 TMaxx and hope it will hold up after adding hardcore tranny
gears and beefing up the diffs with hardened cases and polyamide
bearings..but if it dont hold up for awhile I am going with the Savage from
what I have read.. The whole thing I have about MTs is that it must have
reverse and be functional..otherwise what is the point of a 3 channel
radio?..And..it's great to not have to fetch it all the time..

We live in the city. There's a street with high curbs. We place a piece
of 4x8 plywood on both curbs and try and jump the truck onto porches
about 20 feet away. One day, open throttle for about 40 feet we missed
the jump and curbicided the truck. All that happened was it put an S
shape into the two pieces of chassis and cracked the radio box. I pulled
the chassis off and crushed it between two pieces of thick metal using
my car, and then beat it back totally square with a ball peen hammer.
Good as new.

Metal gear steering servo with over 120oz of torque, and some etra
tubing for the brake linkage to make it stop better.

Nothing much breaks on it.

Why bother with reverse?

Use the stock engine and it's great.

Thanks for the input...
I just have a pet peave that if the truck comes with a 3 channel radio..it
has to have reverse for me to be happy..I like the reverse
function..especially when the truck is about a football field away and you
get forwardly stuck or hung up..the way I see it in my view is if it doesn't
have reverse then it aint no better than the buggy that I have already with
big tires put on it....
I would simply buy another buggy if I were forced to be forward only... upon
upgrading my Maxx tranny I had the cheaper option for forward only hardened
gears ...but I had to have something that would keep reverse intact for my
preference..
May sound silly to some, but it is just how I see it...

Not silly...but we race most of our vehicles and racing doesn't allow
it.

We're also such good drivers that we never need reverse. ;)
