Hi,
I just purchased a HPI savage SS 4.6 kit, but only the kit.
I know I need to get a radio and servos obviously:)
I know nothing about what I should get...
Can someone advise a nice - not too expensive  ( < $200) - radio
receiver ?  I think I need a 3 channel receiver in order to be able to
use the reverse module for the savage.
Also for the servos I believe I need some specific servos for the savage ?

PS : I m probably going to use the receiver for a on-road kit down the
road... not sure if it makes any difference.

Thanks !

If you only bash this will be great. If you intend to race at a track
you may want to upgrade the steering servo to something with more than
120oz of torque.

For steering servo, on my old Savage .21 I was very happy with a Hitec 645
MG for bashing. Dont' know about racing though.

The 590 that comes with the XS3 is comparable to the Hitec 645.

Yup, if you want reverse a 3ch receiver and tranny is needed, the stock
Savage ones do the job, and are available cheap on Ebay.  Steering servo,
personally i use a Hitec 645mg, powerful and cheap, and throttle servo,
doesn't need to be anything special really, wants to be quite fast tho,
maybe a Hitec 625mg, more powerful than needed, but again, a good servo and
quite cheap.
