I purchased a Hobbico Torqmaster 12 volt 7 amp battery to charge my
batteries (duratrax pirana 1900) in the field. My question is about how
many charges will I be able to get from this battery.
Thank you

Erm... if that's 7 amp-*hours*, the answer's actually about three.

Yup, that's exactly what it is.

You want a minimum of a 60 Ah, 12V 'leisure' (caravan) battery to charge
your nicad or Ni-MH packs from.

You wont get alot of battery charges from one charge with that battery. I
use a deep cell marine battery and get about 8-12 charges of 3000 mah out of
it per use (before having to recharge the marine battery).. Also you will
wait forever with that wall charger for the battery.
Get a big deep cell marine battery and and a good automotive brand battery
charger that can charge at 20amps..
Here is the charger I use to recharge the marine battery, bought at walmart
for roughly $50..

Go to your local battery store outlet and see if they have some *blemished*
marine deep cell batteries..I got mine this way and saved over $20 on it
because it had some light chips on the battery posts.

Johnathan is right.  If the packs are not totally dead, you might squeeze
out 4 charges.
