Thanks for the reply Mark. Ran 3 tanks thru her today and she's running
much better. Lots of power now............I guess it just needed a few more
heat cycles to get everything comfy in there.
Another question: What temps should I be shooting for? I have the motor
running rich right now and it runs quite a bit hotter than my other truck
with the M16 in it. The M16 (.16, 1.15HP) runs 265* all day long on my
"track" which is 85% wide open throttle, sustained high-speed driving. The
Q1.6 (.16, 1.6HP) runs right around 300* on the same track, same type of
aggressive driving. I figure that given the motors have the same
displacement, the Q runs hotter due to a higher compression ratio.
I'm wondering if switching to a fuel with higher oil content might help keep
the Q cooler? Currently running Trinity 20/12.

The extra oil content will not do any harm, might be a bit smokier when
running but it will help your engine.
The basic rule of thumb there is the cooler it runs the better...yes try
different fuels and plugs too.....as they can often improve the performance,
stick with the ones the give you the best on that given engine....thats all
there is too it really, no need for any fancy measurements at all.
