Hey I have a Kyosho VS-One car with a GS15R and i've just noticed its
eating glow plugs.
I don't know if this is a tuning problem or not but i've gone through
about 3 in the space of about 1L of fuel.
i dont think its running too lean - can see plenty of blue smoke when I
thrash it.
I'm using a #8 plug at the moment - and I live in NZ. just coming up to
winter. its 11 degrees today.
any suggestions? should I be using a different kind of plug?

Yes the answer is try different plugs, I have usually found Enya Plugs to be
excellent...run on a 4 or 5 in winter....same plug has been in the car now
for well over a year....Hot summers here in the UK are rare hence same plug
!!!!

Enyas are well recommended quality plugs that seem to last longer and I know
plenty of other people on these model ng's who report same.

Absolutely try different plugs. An OS A3 would be worth a try as well. Also,
the old trick of reducing compression would be worth a go. The preferred
method is to add a head shim, but a quick thing just to try it is to use two
plug gaskets instead of one.

A shot conrod would also cause that. Check for excessive play where
the conrod and crank meet.

An old, old trick - try using an extra plug gasket to lower the compression.
If this has a good effect, then you can make a more permanent change by
adding head gaskets. I presume you are using an OS #8, if so, that is often
a good plug.
