Savage S-25 brakes (they suck!)

Brand new Savage S-25, have ran two tanks thru it.  It's running so rich
it's just on the verge of 4-stroking and it still has power to boot!  I'm
impressed so far.

Got off to a rough start, fuel line had a small hole in it (air bubbles in
line) and low-speed screw/needle was "stuck" causing it to run properly at
idle but really lean at 1/4 throttle before the high-speed needle took over.
After fixing everything she's running around 200* on a 90* day, set super
rich for another two tanks.

One thing that sucks is the brakes.  I have the brake adjuster set as tight
as it will go without causing brake drag and the brakes are still really
crappy.  BARELY stops the truck when it's just rolling down a hill.  Fully
charged AA Ni-Cd's in the rx.  Any suggestions?

cut a length of tubing oh say...1 inch or smaller and put it between the
brake linkage end screw(black plastic one) and the servo. This will make
the linkage pull the brakes with more torque, and earlier.

I got my savage to flip over forward the brakes worked so well, after
adding the tubing.

I already tried that by adding a length of tubing twice the length of what
was on there.  I used black rubber vacuum line instead (had it in my auto
shop) which is much stiffer and has less give when the servo starts torquing
down on it.  I'll try again and add an even longer piece and see where it
gets me.

Thanks!

Doc...go to savagecentral.com. You will want to order the stainless
steel brake disc and the brake hub. if you need help finding them,
email me and i'll send you the link. the tubing idea does not work as
you know. The truck has so much power that your stock brake hub will
round out the inside of the brake disk. If you are familiar with rc
vehicle, installing the new one will be easy. I replaced mine on both
trucks. Also, from experience, invest in the steel clutch bell and spur
gear. nascar24rulz@aol.com

Already got em' fixed, but thanks for the info.  I fixed them by shaving the
throttle/brake servo saver to eliminate it's affect on braking and adding a
high-torque servo for the throttle/brake.  Will flip itself over nose first
now if I mash the brakes.
