I'm looking for a good RC magazine to subscribe to that will help me learn
more about the hobby and upgrading my cars/trucks.  I'm a newbie to the
hobby so far and still havnt gotten a truck yet, so a racing magazine
probably isn't what I'm looking for.  More of something for the beginner.

RC Car Action is about as good as it gets for mail-order.  It has lots
of beginner tips.  You can check it out on any large magazine stand.

Just take any of their comments regarding Traxxas products with a grain of
salt - Traxxas have a huge advertising account with RC Car Action, and
sometimes it shows in my opinion.

Otherwise, RCCA is good.
