I am looking for a vehicle to use as a video platform.  Somebody has a
nice setup using a Tamiya 1/12 scale M1025 Hummer.  I would like
something similar but would like more room for gear.  A nice 1/10-1/12
scale deuce or Humvee Ambulance would be perfect.  I am open to
other suggestions.  Anybody know what is out there?  I'd like to keep
the vehicle cost below about $175.

Hoping for some good recommendations...  Here is the one that I saw
that was a really great job:  http://www.detroitatvrepeater.com/car2.htm

I don't want to duplicate his efforts exactly and I have some ideas
for other features...but I need space.

Thanks,
Carl

Do you want it to look authentic?  Tamiya is the only one I know making
a good looking and well built Hummer.  You can put a Hummer body on
just about any RC truck, but few would look "real".  Most RCs are
designed to handle well, not look real.  The tires are to big and the
stance is to wide for the scale.

If your not picky on looks you can get a Traxxas Rustler and a 1/10
Hummer body in your price range, but will need a charger and batteries
as well.

WalMart was selling these monsters.  2 foot long so lots of room.  You
can paint it military.  Performance was pretty sad compared to the
"real" RC trucks though.  If your trying to film and not getting it for
the bashing ability then it might work for you.

I mounted a wireless color camera to my Micro RS4 and had fun driving
it around my house.  Mouted the camera to the front of my XXX4 during a
race with the feed being sent to a TV in the pits, everyone got a kick
out of it.
