3 Traxxas vs. 1 Savage, guess who "won"?

Howdy y'all,

Had a bashfest at the local park this past weekend, running my Savage with 3
Traxxas vehix (E-Maxx, T-Maxx and Rustler).  The park is a combination of
gravel roads, dirt ballfields, grassy fields, and a concrete
skateboard/bicycle park.  After one hour, the only one left standing was the
mighty Savage!

The E-Maxx couldn't hold a stick to the accelleration and top-end of the Sav
or T-Maxx and was retired after 15 minutes or so as it couldn't keep up with
the big boys.

The T-Maxx and Rustler couldn't keep up with the Sav on the rough terrain
and I was running them down (actually over the Rustler a few times) like
they weren't even moving.

The rustler blew out a shock tower and was retired after a nice 25 ft
cartwheeling adventure, and the T-Maxx just quit for no reason and wouldn't
restart.  All that remained was the Savage, and I kept running it for
another hour after that.

I was really suprised that I could outrun a Rustler with the 2.5R in it.  It
<looks> faster and <sounds> faster when it's running, maybe because it's so
small, but after running it down a few times I realized my Savage was
actually faster than it.

Awesome :)

But I have to ask, what batteries were running in the E-maxx??  Cause if it
didn't have at least 3000mah ones in there it wont be running as well as it
could.  Stick a couple of nice 3000+ batts in there and whoa nelly!  I
actually went out and bought more high cap/power batts just for it as the
older 2000's just couldn't give me the power/speed/runtime the 3000's
could...

I reckon the 2.5R sounds faster cause its revving its head off!  Savage is a
big block monster and I agree with you, it doens't *sound* that fast (but it
is)

Im suprised at the Emaxx.

FWIW, I have a electric Traxxas Stampede with a Novak SS5800 brushless
system and from 0-25mph, I still can't find anyone of my friends cars
that can keep up. Revo, Tmaxx, etc.

I'm not, he only had 2300's in there...  Stick some 3000+mah's in there and
it'll run heaps better...

Plus you have a brushless system in a Stampede so bit more grunt and a lot
less weight/rotating mass than an E-maxx...

Yes. A pair of GP 3300mah 7cell packs should give him at least 3-5 mph
gains.
