New to this. Looking to pick up an electric truck/buggy that's ready
to go as is for use on an acreage. Long grass, dirt, gravel . . . .
some rough conditions and also some easier gravelled roadways and lawn
areas. What little I know, I understand that some units have dual
batt's for longer run times and/or more power? thanks.

Long grass is a beast. If long means over 4 or 5 inches tall. Electric
buggies with the right tires can tackle lots of terrain. If longer grass
is a must as another poster said here the Traxxas E-Maxx, which is an
electric monster truck might be a better choice:

For running in tall grass, gravel, etc. ground clearance and 4WD is a MUST.
The Traxxas E-Maxx or Hot Bodies E-Zilla would be your best bet. Both have
great ground clearance, dual motors, dual batteries. You'll want some
decent batteries, 3000mAh or better, as this will give you more power, speed
and runtime. Go for NiMh batteries as they don't develop memory like
Ni-Cd's do, and grab a peak charger (as opposed to a timed charger) as well.

From what I hear, a well-charged set of 3300mAh stick packs will give you
around 30 minutes runtime on an E-Maxx.

Of course, you could also go for nitro, in which case I'd recommend the HPI
Savage 25. I have acreage, sounds very similar to yours per way of terrain
and I can run it thru or over anything on my land.
