I don't intend to be in racing. Just have fun with my son in the
backyard. I am looking for hassle free good RC cars.
After reading through the posts - felt like going for electric car and
the model I am looking at is :
Team Losi 1/18 Mini-T Stadium Truck
Like it for the reason - I can get RTR and easy maintenance.
Any comments.
I would be driving mostly in the grass or sand. Can this car take some
water in the grass ? Or these cars can be played only in dry places ??

Please advice before I buy it.

Thanks
Somnath

Well the mini-t isnt going to be good in grass. There is something that
is coming out that should be and you get so much more for the little
extra cost this would be the Losi Mini-LST. Its a 1/18th Monster Truck
4x4 with 2motors, duel servo steering, oil shocks, aluminum plates,
better ground clearance. It comes with a much nicer radio system too.
Totally blows away a mini-t. Im about 90% sure Im getting one and Ive
been strictly a nitro guy for 6 years yet this impresses me enough to go
electric again.
Below I added some places for you to check-out about it take a look .

I agree 100%.  For playing the Mini-LST will be far more capable.  It
will be out pretty soon and will be well worth waiting for.  If it does
half as well as I think it will, it will still be worth the money.

Mini-Ts don't do well in grass.  They do OK in sand with the right
tires.  The only place I would want to use one would be a groomed track
or pavement.  For real off-road I would rather have 4wd.

There are other trucks that would do good in sand and grass, but the
Mini-LST looks to blow them all away.

Oh yeah, I am so getting one!

Traxxas Stampede. Floats over grass like a boat on the waves, easy to
maintain. Hobby shops everywhere have Traxxas parts.

I agree 100%. Great truck. Put some Proline Masher 2000's on it and
have at it. Fun truck.

All great trucks...have some of them myself.  Here is an Electric car
I'm having a ball with, and is off the beaten path (no pun intended).
The Tamiya Impreza WRC.  I picked it up after it got a decent review in
Oct 2005 RC Car Action as well.  Only bummer for me are the friction
shocks and the wheels/tires look a little hokey.  Still, a high fun
factor makes up for it!

Forgot to mention...it is a kit.  It goes without saying that building a
kit with you kids has a value all it's own!  My son loves using the "I
built it" bragging rights.  And this kit is a snap to put together.
