...the beast is still costing me!  Arrived in the post today, Proline 23mm
Hex adaptors and a 17t clutchbell.  Now need to get me some 23mm wheels....
Thinking about giving her a nice change over winter.  Maybe change the
springs, lower her a little, new shell, something white and racey, probably
a Crowd Pleazer to go with the white dishes i'm planning on...

NIIIIIICCCE!  I allways love getting new bits for the little monsters :)

I reckon it'd look a little funny if you put buggy wheels on it :)  fast
but!

I'm still getting the E-Maxx sorted, springs are still on the way and when
they are fitted, done.  Savage is sorted as far as thats concerned.

I really want to find some sort of body for the maxx that isn't a typical
maxx/revo/savage style pickup.  I love the Jeep body on the Savage but I
cant seem to find something like that for the Maxx...

I have some stuff on the way for mine as well.  Wheel bearings and
axleshafts for starters (blew 2 rears last weekend) as they finally went
after 6 gallons of pure torture.  Also ordered me a silver Integy center
skid plate and an HPI polished pipe (4.6 version).  I really wanted the
THS8025 pipe but for the cost of the THS pipe, I was able to get my wheel
bearings and axleshafts, center skid, TVP's, one-way, HPI tuned pipe AND a
nifty set of OFNA hex-drivers (the purdy anodized ones!).

I have me a lovely Hudy 2.5 hex driver, as that was always the most common
size i found, and at £9 (bout what, $17usd) each, i didn't wanna get the
whole set!  Need to decide whether i was 40 series dishes or 40 Wabash
wheels, and do i want yellow or white...

Not into the Cheyennes? (spelling)

Can you get those wheels in chrome??  (I love chrome wheels :)

I've allways wanted to get a set of dish wheels, and then draw something
cool (like some picture or cartoon or something) on the dishes, or paint a
colour gradient so when they spin, they look all spirally.

I have Velocity 6's at the moment, very nice to look at, but i'm upgrading
to the 23mm hexes and the choice of wheels is somewhat limited.  Think i'll
pop to the LHS tmrw, and if they have any in, that makes the choice for me
;)  Otherwise, i'll just go onto MTR's website and order me a set of white
Wabashes i think.

Sounds good :)

The LHS here is crap, they never keep anything like that in stock as they
are worried they wont sell it.  Then they wonder why everybody buys stuff
online!

I'm still keen to get the Revo wheels I've got working on the E-maxx.  I
think I can get away with the offset if I use the wider arms, just have to
wait till an upper and a lower arrives so I can test fit it all up!

Don't really know what the LHS here in Lincoln is like, as i've never really
been in - but I plan to drop in tmrw or Friday - gotta go into town anyway
to get some fake blood for my Halloween costume ;)

I REALLY need to get some proper hex drivers, using allen keys just plain
sucks.  Most of the allen nuts in the savage are done up with allen keys
turned by a nicely sized pair of pliers :)  (yes I have twisted many allen
keys this way, LOL :)

I can strongly recommend the Hudy ones.  Not cheap no, but i have one that i
have strongly abused for the past couple of years and its just proving to be
invincible.

Noted, I'll check em out :)

I know how crap tools can ruin your day (and your hands), busted tool and
bleeding hands (and of course now you need to find another tool).  I work
with 1:1 cars all the time and I dont use shitty knock offs when it comes to
sockets etc.  I've hurt my hands too many times when they let go (right when
I have maximum torque on the bolt!!)

They're probably half the price they are here over there :)  I have to find
a 23mm socket now to go with the 23mm hexes....  Proving more difficult than
i imagined!

Nah easy, look for any glow plug wrench for an 1/8th scale buggy on ebay or
somewhere, they all have 23mm sockets on them (along with the glow drive
socket).  Ofna and Hoboa make em and sell em for diddly!

Hmmm, you're posting at the same time as me, it must be late!  Do you two
use MSN?  M'always up for a little RC related banter - or just general
shootin the breeze...  If you wanna add me go to

and look for the post by DanTXD :-)  You can find my MSN details on the
bottom of every post i've made.  I somehow think just posting them to Usenet
may not be the best of ideas ;-)

Added you to my buddy list on MSN.  I use Trillian which is sometimes a bit
wonky with contacts, so we'll see if it worked.  If you get a request from a
UID that starts with gmc that's me.

My bad, forgot about the huge time difference between here and UK.  You're
about 5-6 hours ahead of me I believe.  I'm in EST zone.

Annnnd got myself some red springs today - much softer than the nasty stock
purple/black ones - which are far too hard IME.  This should improve the
handling a little!
