Not really (in fact never). I mainly drive on very loose gravel or dirt.
The main problem I have is one wheel picking up off the ground (normally a
front) and then all power going to that (and it balloons something
shocking), plus I love rock crawling (in the Maxx more than the Savage). Re
the cornering, I've found that with massive amounts of power that isn't
generally a problem as the rear end is quite tail happy :)

yep, allready tried that, I have that stuff in both my front diffs and while
it is better than stock, its no match for a nitro engine, or 2x 550 size
motors..

Well that sounds suss, as a SportMaxx (any Maxx for that matter, T or E or
the 2wd) diff isn't interchangable with a savage or 1/8th scale diff as they
are smaller (much). A Savage diff is bloody close to an 1/8th so thats what
I'm going to use, particularly a Torsen. Torsen diffs are great as they are
open diffs until one wheel breaks traction, then they lock up. The savage
is too big and heavy to use lockers and since I'm allready chewing out my
rear axles I've decided on a Torsen.
I notice that I posted the follow up to my opening post *after* you replied,
and in that post I made mention of a few options re 1/8th scale diffs *and*
a possible solution to the diff bearing problems...
