FWIW, I noticed on the RCCA website that Orion has come out with a
plastic encased 7.4v lipo battery for R/C cars. There is some
interesting discussion on it.

I am very excited to see this. Wonder how they took care of the low
voltage cut-off issue? I am looking to see new ESCs designed for LiPos
with that technology built in. Now we just need the price to come down
and we will be sitting around talking about, "Remember when we only had
NIMH batteries? Races were only five minutes and we thought that was
great!"

According to the posts on the site, the $199 is MSRP. They expect the
retail to be around $125. I also believe there may be some discussion
of low voltage cut-off in the forum.

There is speculation, but no answers, on the low voltage issue.
Price is not bad, but still needs to come down before you can get most
people over to LiPo for regular use. I can see two of these in an
electric monster! Now that's cool :)

airplane dudes with older esc uses a liposave or lipowatch tool. connect it
to the battery and a led will blimp is the voltage gets to low or a beeper
is somethimes used. There is no cuttof only a warning.
