Pipes...

Specifically, for my Sav and my 4.6...

Basically - the ribbed pipe - is absolutely DEAFENING.  Seriously, and this
is compared to the RB i had on before that was not by any stretch of the
imagination, quiet.  Sooooo my Sav just cost me more money and because I
ordered the HPi tuned pipe to shove on and see how that goes :-)

What pipes are you other 4.6 owners runnin' then?  Anyone else does any mods
recently?  Not just to Savs - anything?

Yea i've heard good things about those - only problem is i can't find
anywhere stocking them in this country, and it works out to about £45ukp
posted - which is a bit much for something i'll probably bend and destroy in
a short time anyway ;-)

I like the sounds of the CVEC.  Would it work well on my 4.6 monster GT?

Should work just fine!

Will the CVEC reduce noise?  I drive around my apartment and dont want
the neighbors hating me.  The MGT seems much louder than my RC10GT.

The CVEC Pipe is fairly loud..a different pitch loud from a standard pipe,
as it has an internal adjustable piston that moves..

Here's a suggestion.  The Sportwerks pipe I have on my .26 (same as your
MGT) is very quiet compared to my Savage with HPI polished pipe.  It is just
a hair louder than my bud's T-Maxx with .18 and Dynamite aluminum pipe.  I
have the HT pipe (NOT the buggy pipe) and have zero complaints.  I wouldn't
put another pipe on it if it was given to me.

Then again, I have no idea how loud your truck is now so I can't really say
if it'll be quieter or not!  <g>

Also, he's running a .28 TTR, not a .26 Mach ;-)

Ahhhh hell, you're right.  I always get the MGT and LST all mixed up.  The
LST has the Mach .26..............

I'm running the 4.6 polished pipe on my S-25 and it is a tad quieter than
the stock composite pipe and much quieter than the ribbed pipe.  I think any
2-chamber pipe will be quieter than the ribbed pipe which is just TOO loud.
Top end seems to be about the same but much more bottom end and mid range
power.  Decent scavenging as the motor takes forever to load up at idle
whereas it used to load up pretty easily, even with a good tune.

These are all the things I wanted to hear :-)

I'm runnin the stock polished alloy pipe that comes with the 4.6 kit here.
Personally I think its to loud and it makes a friends 25 with a ribbed pipe
sound quite, but the ribbed pipe makes my better halfs tmaxx and another
friends revo sound quite.

I might see if I can loan a sound meter the next time we're all out and see
what the meter says.

I'm thinking about buying that snazzy lookin wheelie bar for my Savage 4.6.
I just (today) got some Imex Outlaw wheels and Swamp Dawg tyres which I am
sure don't hook-up as well as the Dirt Bonez do but I wanted something that
will last on the gravel and hot sand this summer.  I run these tyres on my
Stampede with ribbed tyres on the front and in the sand dunes its awesome
fun.

Also thinkin about getting the gettin my pipe, roll bar and chassis plates
anodised, just haven't thought of a colour yet.  I'm thinkin I might copy
that HPI idea and try some flames, maybe in gold???

I am putting some super bright 18,000 mcd led's in my spotlights that came
with the kit for the night runs.  I recon this will look awesome while doing
back flips at night.

Cheers
Richard
