Note that the truck is vertical (nose up) in mid-air and then levels out
right before he touches down.  That's done by applying just the right amount
of brakes in mid-air.  So yeah, he could have landed ass-first if he didn't
apply brakes or landed nose first had he applied too much brakes.

Nah it's a Savage ;-)   The thought always enters my mind, but I was having
too much fun to listen to my brain !

Is that invested in upgrades or repairs?

My guess would be upgrades.  I paid $369 for my 25RTR back in May, and have
put around 7 gallons thru her since then.  In those seven gallons, maybe
$100 in repairs/wear and tear, mostly caused by full-speed impacts with
large, immovable objects (trees, fire hydrants, etc.).  For those reading
who are newer to nitro, 7 gallons is a shitload of fuel in such a short
time.  Most guys only get 3-5 gallons before the motor or something else
major pukes.  After 7 gallons the motor is just as strong as it was on day
one, the tranny is holding up well, and the front diff is still original!
The rear diff puked it's bearings after 4 gallons or so, but all other major
driveline parts are the factory originals.

Now hop-ups and bling on the other hand..........................I don't
even want to guess at how much I've spent......................

I did a jump over one of the smaller ramps and landed a bit nose heavy on
the concrete and my titanium front skid let out a shower of sparks.  That
made it ALL worth while :)

Nnnniiiiiicccccceeeee!  The only time I've ever sparked is when I flipped my
Savage and landed upside down on concrete.  The cylinder head emitted a huge
array of sparks.  It's 7075 T-6 Aluminum and hardly even had a scratch on
it!

I haven't spent much at all on repairs really, way less than 50ukp.
Upgrades and mods however... Well...
