Ok guys,
Tried out the new wheelie bar today on the ol' Savage. First time I
wheelied she flipped right over on her lid and bent the piss out of the
wheelie bar in the process. Both the bar and the screws that hold it to the
skid plate were bent all to hell. Damn thing was destroyed after 3 tanks of
fuel. It actually made the wheelies harder to ride as it's narrower than
the rear skid plate which is what I was previously riding the wheelies on.
Total and complete waste of $15!
I haven't seen any others that look like they'd be worth a damn so looks
like it's time to loosen the slipper clutch and ground her for awhile. The
GPM bar looks AWESOME but I know I'd destroy it in a matter of minutes. The
New Era bar looks to be super durable but I've picked one up before and it
weighed around 2 lbs (no joke). My Sav is heavy enough without an
additional 2lbs of steel on the a.s end. The HPI bar looks worthless per
way of looks and functionality.
Any other suggestions? I might just grab some angle iron and weld one up
myself.

The HPI one rocks, have landed on it a few times from way up there and its
still attached and fine. I've now got the big wheel on the back cause the
small one doesn't work so well in the long grass...
On conrete it can get a bit iffy, but if you dont lift the fronts up super
fast (which can be a bit hard on concrete) it wont bounce so hard on the bar
and off you go! When you bounce off the bar it does throw the truck off a
bit in comparison to riding on the rear bumper bar...
I'm totally happy with mine, plus its plastic so bends and bends back :)
