Here's a toughie for you guys.  When I was a young man my first hobby-grade
r/c was a Tamiya OR Kyosho (can't remember) 4WD shaft-driven buggy.  The
only identifiers I can remember were the dish wheels and a huge resistor in
a metal caging mounted just ahead of the rear body mounts.  This would have
been in the early 90's............

Any guesses?  I've been googling for hours to no avail.

Just remembered some more about it.  The shocks were oil-filled, red
plastic.  The mechanical speed control was mounted horizontally about
mid-chassis.  The chassis was all plastic.  The aforementioned huge resistor
was rectangular, not square.  Shaft for the FWD was on the passenger side of
the buggy.  No wing from what I can remember.  White dish wheels with knobby
tires front and rear, same size front and rear from what I can remember.
I'm pretty sure it was a Kyosho.

This is the Hotshot II. Or at least sounds like it could be. But the
drive shaft that goes from rear to front is on the Left the the wheels
were not dish type..

I never really had any "hobby grade" r/cs as a real young man, but I do
actually still have some of my first r/cs still in boxes!
Anybody ever have/remember a  Speedwave Movin' On (TV Series) Saunders
Leasing Tractor Trailer?
Tyco Indy Cars... Kraco and Dominos Pizza  "turbo action" = "eats batteries
fast" =)
No box... StarWars Sandcrawler  =)
Also had  a Big Trax? programmable 6wheeler with trailer...don't
remember/know what became of that...
Sure, they're all "toys" because of no proportional steering, but still
entertaining!
I did however always want a "real r/c" Grasshopper when I was younger and
never got one....=(
I don't want one now though.  =)
A few years ago I picked up 4 "toy" R/Cs for my son on clearance that were
pretty neat called Bio Bugs ... nothing vintage, but something
different...we still ocassionally battle with them...
I'll shutup now... LOL

I'd hazard a guess at the Manta Ray. :)

I've actually got a Shadow w/box and paperwork. Everythings there, but
it's far from new ;)

It's got a busted front left hub. Any ideas on where to get the parts
tree for it?

Didn't mean to post jack.

E-Bay would be your best bet.  There are currently ZERO Shadow parts listed
on E-Bay.  I wonder if it shared hubs with any other more popular Kyosho
models?
