You mentioned a Sav for £299

Where? If you don't mind. Was it the roto start?

Great, now piss off you boss-eyed twat!

The 3.5 is £299 on ModelSport I beleive, I'm not sure if it's Roto, but a
Roto can be had from Ebay for less than £20...

sorted, it will be ordered mid week. Apart from rotostart, is there any
essential upgrades I shuld "feel" the need to make quickly? I'm thinking
strength here ;)

No real strength upgrades needed out of the box as she's pretty damn tough!
My suggestions, with approximate prices in US dollars:

1.  Slap the stock steering servo (SF2) on throttle/brake, and run a Hitec
645MG/Hobbico CS-70 or metal-geared equivalent on steering.  Save the OE
throttle servo (SF1) for the reverse when you buy the reverse module. $39.99

2.  Replace steering bellcrank bushings with bearings, you'll need (4)
6x10x3mm. $4.99

3.  Relocate throttle return spring from stock location to run between the
roll bar and throttle linkage in front of the gas tank; this will give you
much better throttle return and serves as a mechanical failsafe in case of
rx battery failure.  I can send pics if you'd like. FREE

4.  5-cell rx hump pack (order one with male JST/BEC connector) for a direct
fit with stock electronics. $19.99

5.  NOVA race pro cooling head.  S-25 likes to run hot, the NOVA head will
tame it nicely. $39.99

6.  MIP on-board temp gauge is a must unless you already have an IR temp
gun.  The on-boards are much more accurrate IMO. $19.99

7.  Dirt Bonz tires on whatever wheels you choose. $50.00

8.  HPI wheelie bar (you'll need it!). $15.99

9.  Center skid plate (I have an integy and it's ok) $15.99

10.  Aluminum fuel tank guard (3-racing makes a great one). $9.99

11.  Motorsaver air filter $19.99

12.  HPI polished pipe $25.00

Guys, did I forget anything?

I'd agree with that yea.

Probably something I'd do when I had the whole thing apart anyway, rather
than take it apart to do the mod.

Yup, good call.  Till then, only use Duracells or VERY good rechargeables.

Not 100% necessary, IMHO, but does look cool :)  Also, 3.5 has the new .21 -
not an S-25...

Never used a temp guage :-)

> 7.  Dirt Bonz tires on whatever wheels you choose. $50.00

Yup Bonz are quite handy, join www.maxbashing.com as well :)

> 8.  HPI wheelie bar (you'll need it!). $15.99

With a 3.5?  I'm not sure he will :-)

> 9.  Center skid plate (I have an integy and it's ok) $15.99

I have a GPM - it's also ok - they're hard to get wrong really! But they do
help keep shite out of it's insides.

> 10.  Aluminum fuel tank guard (3-racing makes a great one). $9.99

Heh, mine got torn off during bashing - I never replaced it, never bust a
tank either - but if you're running on gravel I'd recommend it.

> 11.  Motorsaver air filter $19.99

The 3.5 comes with the same filter as the SS 4.6 now - which, IMHO, is just
as good as a motorsaver.

> 12.  HPI polished pipe $25.00

Yup, the composite one is crap.  Or a ribbed pipe, which works well with the
21.

Don't think so!
