Well, got my Nitro Buzz on today.  It's the first time I've been able to run
my vehicles in about a year and a half.  Got that Nitro smell in my
nose......smelling it everywhere today.  Tried out some new fuel today.  It
was O'Donnell 20% R2R.  Seemed to run quite well.  I've used Wildcat,
Trinity and Blue Thunder......this seems to be about the same.  Although
it's the first time I've seen Clear fuel.  Most of them are either purple,
blue, orange....etc. Run three tanks through my Rush today and it seemed
fine.  I'll see how it does in my Savage and BFT. Will break in the Fantom
15 ABSC motor in with it as well that's in my MT Racer.

Has anyone else used O'Donnell fuels before? It's funny how Tower will only
ship 4 Gallons of fuel at a time along with the hefty material charge from
the carrier, but they have no problems shipping 8 quarts with nothing more
then standard shipping.  I know its the way it is, just seems funny is all.

I use O'Donnels 20% Race blend (less oil than R2R fuel, more power!) in all
my engines and they absolutely love it.  Even with the race blend and a very
aggressive tune (lean and mean) my S-25 (Savage motor) with 9 gallons thru
it still wheelies into third gear and has loads of pinch.  My Sportwerks .26
with around 3 gallons thru still feels like new WRT pinch and compression.
Inspection of sleeves and pistons reveals no visible wear.  My buds run it
in their smallblocks and they like it just as well.  If I can't get
O'Donnels I just don't play until I can get it.

Funny how nitro does stick in your nose huh!?  I love smelling it at the
office the day after I've had a bashfest.

A strict diet of O'Donnels 20% race blend, OS Glow Plugs, Motorsaver air
filters and Marvel Mystery Oil after each run will keep em' running great
for a long time.

I might try the race blend after I go through the R2R.  Local shop doesn't
stock O'Donnell and don't like it either. (at least last I checked).  I
don't usually go local unless I have to. If I need something I just order it
from Tower or NitroHouse.  I actually can't stand going into the LHS.  I
can't believe what people pay to have someone else build their kit and tune
it for them.  Not to mention paying outrageous money for repairing them.  It
just make me shake my head and walk away.  I may be the only one that thinks
this, but it is of my opinion that if you are going to undertake this hobby,
then you should be in it all the way. No one that is really into it takes
their stuff to a LHS to get it fixed......maybe to show them a part they
need, but to have it repaired, tune my motor, replace my motor.....etc.

If a lot of folks were into it around here, I could see myself making a lot
of money though.  Would still be disgusted, but with some $ in my pocket.
:-)

I use Motor Savers as well, but use both OS and McCoy glow plugs.

I like my LHS, but you're right on the wussies paying someone to build their
kit, tune their motor, etc.  I was in the other day and someone came in with
a new T-Maxx body and stickers and asked how much the owner would charge to
affix them for him.  Pathetic!  General mechanical/fabrication skills and a
working knoiwledge of IC engines is a must in this hobby.

No sh.t.  I'm already known at the bash spots and track as Mr.
Fixit/Tuneit/etc. and I do it all for free as I like to help people, but as
a side biz, charging 1/2 of what the LHS charges I could make a mint.

Never used a McCoy plug, but have never heard anything but good things about
them.

Got my Kanai III all put together last night, gunna go break her in!

Sportwerks .26 with a THS torque pipe.  This thing flat out screams man!  My
Mayhem ST runs at 50mph (radar tested) and based on that I'd guesstimate the
Kanai at 55-57mph.  I'm running a conservative tune and could move up on the
CB so I'm aiming for 60mph.  It feels silky when driving; very smooth and
calculated.  It is now my favorite toy by far.

I'll send some pics yer' way when I take them.

No sh.t man, it really is a thing of beauty.  I have tons of hardcore racing
and Fioroni hop-ups on it which makes it look even meaner and perform even
better.  Which one do you have?  I have the MP 7.5 Kanai III.

I've got an MP7.5 Kanai 2, exactly the same, cept the 3 is lighter...

I allways have a bit of trouble driving it after the Savage.  In the Savage,
I'm allways counter steering cause the back end is very tail happy.  The
Inferno isn't, it just grips and handles like its on rails, makes my
cornering, erm, look a bit funny for half a tank or so :)

That's the only fuel I run as well. O'Donnells 20% Racing Blend.
It costs a couple of bucks more, but it has always worked very well!
It won't leave your fuel tank/lines a shade of purple or red or whatever
from the dye.
Good stuff!
I hear Red Alert is good fuel as well, but never tried it.
I think that DuraTrax actually makes it or is in some kind of ownership with
O'Donnells and Red Alert fuel.
There is a long list of professional racers that use it and have won/win
with it!
Proven good!
I have always run MC59 plugs but I am going to try some of the newer MC8
plugs this season.

Err... I meant I have mainly always run MC9 plugs...
I always get those mixed up...
When I started in nitro, I used the 59's for awhile and they would burn out
quickly in warm weather..they are good for cold weather though.

At least you guys can get decent name brand fuels and I notice that you can
either buy the O'Donnell's in either a 1 quart or 4 gallon containers.
Strange they don't have a choice in between the two sizes.  The only fuel I
get from my lhs is a brand called Hot Stuff which looks like a its made in
someone's back yard as the labels are never straight and the bottles look
recycled sometimes and we can get it in either a 1 or 2.5 litre bottle.  I
pay $40 (AUS) for the 20%.  I do have another LHS that will make the fuel up
to spec and do it in any size container I provide.

Price comparison for O'Donnell's from Towers is 1 quart 20% works out at
about $11.15 (AUS) and I pay $18 for 1 Litre of the Hot Stuff 20% only about
$6 difference.   If we had a 4 gallon container (15 litres) we would pay
about $220 (AUS).

You can't get the fuel in 4 gallon containers.  In order to have a gallon
shipped, they require you to buy 4 gallons and pay an additional $20
material along with the standard shipping. However, you can buy as many 1
quart containers as you want without paying any extra shipping(other then
weight additions).
