Brought my self a nitro truck. I was between a Savage and a mayhem. Couldn't
find anywhere local stocking the mayhem but plenty stocking Savages and
parts. So on that note I went for convienience. I brought the thje Savage
25. £330 same price as the basic sav but the model shop was doing a deal so
i got battery for roto start a glow starter 1/4 gallon of fuels quick filler
bottle and plug wrench (much easier than me socket set!)

1/4 gallon of fuel through her and all I can say is one big :)
Though I've replaced 2 uprights already :( skateboard ramp jumping was great
fun until i hit the ramp at full pelt and not square. My savage front left
wheel vs scaffholding bar grind rail (twice) not good.

Any one reccomend a good tyre glue??? :) I desperatley need some! I was told
superglue... I'm not very sure.

ANyway I've got my eye on my next truck, Kyosho giga crusher. Not sure if
I'll go single or double engine :)

Quick question is white flames out the exhaust good or bad? I was leaning my
sav after break in and noticed this so left it rich to be sure until i get a
temp gun.

Great, now piss off you boss-eyed twat!

There are 10 types of people in this world; those who understand the
binary numbering system and those who don't.

LOL I don't think they're flames.  Usually smoke comes out there, and
that's a good thing.  It has a bit of a stinging sweet smell.

No it was definetly not smoke. It was flashes of white, flames I presume.
Any way I'm running it rich until someone advises me of a decent way of
leaning it out without a temp gun.

Yea they don't like metal posts...

Yea superglue does the trick.

Ooooooooooooo they're a bit pony....  Quite weak, not really up to Kyosho
standards.

Lean it till it stops spluttering, but not so far as for it to die when flat
out.  Its very hard to explain what a good tune sounds/looks like.

Sweet!  Good choice my man!

Uprights?  Do you mean body mount posts, shock towers or bulkheads?

Superglue (Cyanoacrylate, or CA) works great.  Get the thick formula so you
have few seconds to position the tire on the bead before it dries.

Ditto what Dan said, they're weak, as are all Kyosho monsters (Mad Force,
Twin Force, etc.).  Kyosho should stick to 1/8 buggies and truggies IMO.

I have never seen flames coming out of an exhaust.  It was likely bursts of
smoke.  If it was flames, you have serious problems as that means ignition
is occurring BTDC and continuing after the exhaust port has opened.

I would highly suggest an MIP on-board temp gauge vs. an IR temp gun.  Much
more accurate and gives you "real time" readings and stores max temps after
a hard run.

Generally speaking, if the HSN is too rich the engine will have a hard time
getting into 2nd gear and will sound garbly and be smoking like mad.  If the
HSN is too lean the engine will sputter or die at WOT and sound "poppy" or
"crackly".  For a newb, a temp gauge is a must IMO, as the average newb
doesn't know what a good tune sounds or looks like.  You always want a
steady stream of smoke coming out the pipe at WOT.  With stock head, the
S-25 will run anywhere between 250-290* with a proper tune.  In my
experience, the motor isn't happy at anything below 250* and doesn't start
making decent power until 260* or so.

Most folks will say "never tune by temp" and I would somewhat agree, but in
my experience every motor has a temp at which it is the happiest.  The S-25
likes to run HOT and on summer days I'll be running 290-300* consistently.
It has almost 10 gallons thru it now and shows no signs of slowing down so
the high temps are obviously not a problem.

Be sure to use a quality after run oil (I use Marvel Mystery Oil) after each
use and she'll last forever.

86254 - ALUMINUM C HUB but in plastic obviously. Which brings me to my next
question. Would aluminium ones be better? I'm toying with the idea TBH.
Problem is, the cost of them. If they take a good smack the plastic ones
obviously snap. Wouldn't the metal ones just bend? If so, I'll stick with
the plastic ones till I'm far better at aiming the thing.

Good. I get Super glue for free.

But it looked good :) I was admiring the hellfire also.
