Just wanted to say hey and ask for some help. I'm new to the world of
Nitro RCs and I am still learning the ropes. I have learnt one such
thing
today when my engine (which I had just taken out and cleaned and
neglected to tighten the screws up enough) shock loose and feathered on

of the nylon gears. I wanted to know wether I could file the gears or
if i needed to buy a new one.

Thanks any help would be good

Yup you need a new one, don't fret though, they're not expensive :)  It's
the spur gear, about £4gbp.  Probably about $5US.  What is it for?

Dude,

If you were any more vague you wouldn't have posted anything at all.  Tell
us what vehicle you are talking about, and what part is damaged (use the
part name, part number, ANYTHING that will actually let us know what the
f**k you are talking about) and then maybe we can help you.

Ok calm down
I found the part don't worry about it.
And thanks Dan.

Both of you have misinterpreted my response.  There is no need for me to
"calm down" and this situation has not stressed me in the least.  The OP
posted a question asking for help with next to no information, and when Dan
prompted him for further details he posted back an even more vague response.
This is the equivalent of calling a mechanic and saying "my car is making a
noise, what do you think is wrong with it?"

People like that irritate me.  In fact, all people irritate me in general!
<g>  If someone is foolish enough to not look in the vehicle manual or go to
the manufacturer's website and pull up an exploded parts view and get the
actual part name, they have to expect a small amount of flaming in return.

You didn't really need to say all, thats ok. I understand what you
mean., after Dan said that I needed a new one I did go to the website
and i did get the exploded view of the car and I orded a new part for
the car from the hobby shop. The reason I didn't give any more
information to Dan was because he had already answered my question.

I understand why you wanted to know more and appreciate that you wanted
to help me. But I didn't really need to know any thing more than that i
needed a new part. After that i got an exploded view of the car and
bought the new part i needed. Although I don't know much about R/C cars
I'm not a complete idiot. :P
