Greetings All,

I'm selling an RC car and am trying to spread the word about it.  It's
on eBay so anyone can see what it is.

The car would have only done less than 20 laps at any sort of speed.  I
just don't have the time to drive it or practice.

I've put a very low starting price on it - the programmable ESC and
radio gear alone would cost more than the starting price.  All up the
package cost me a bit over $1,700.00(AUD) new.

Thanks in advance,

Trevor

The eBay URL is

I want to sell the lot together.  Here is what I've got or just take a
look at it on eBay.

Chassis
HPI RS4 Pro3

Suspension
HPI Orange (rear)
HPI Green (front)

Wheels & Tyres
HPI lightweight rims (chrome)
HPI Slicks and foam inserts (almost no wear)
HPI lightweight aluminium wheel nuts installed

Motor
LRP 9x2 Modified Motor

Speed Controller
Novak Cyclone TC2 with Pit Wizard Programmer
Speed controller is programmable to suit track and race conditions

Radio Control
Jr Racing XR-2
Dual Channel AM -  with trim control

Charger - Discharger
LRP Quadra charger
Also discharges
Set up for 240VAC or 12VDC use (cigarette lighter plug)

Batteries
2 sets of matched Sanyo 3000mAh Ni-MH batteries
High power wiring and quick change plugs installed

Body
Funky VW New Beetle Body.
Painted yellow.
Even painted the tinted windows and sun roof.
Looks great tearing round the track.
May not be the most aerodynamic, but the performance of the car makes
up for it.

Manuals
Comes with manuals for everything that has a manual

I would really appreciate some feedback.  Is $400.00 (AUD) a fair price
for all of this?  The ESC and programmer cost more than that alone.

Cheers,

Trevor

Well if I didn't allready have one, I'd have have bidded by now :)

Its certainly too high as an opening bid.

I personally haven't sold many of my cars as you never EVER get *anywhere*
near what they are worth and you certainly dont get anywhere near what you
paid back.

Its a real shame actually as you and I are both in Oz and you have a very
nice setup there.  I am very very tempted but I just cant justify yet
another car!  Doh!!!

Thanks for the feedback Dre.  I have just relisted it for $300.00
because it didn't sell.  If I can't get $300 for it then I'll go and
join the local club and invest the time in mastering it.  Just need to
get some 3800mAh batteries for it (I'll keep the 3000s for practice)
and program the TC2 to suck the guts out of the 3800s in a single race.

With the 9x2 motor and fully programmable ESC who needs to play with
gearing?

Hey no worries, best of luck with it!

I love mine, cept the position of the bloody battery, damn its hard to get
in and out and still have the wires clear everything.

I'd personally keep it.  Some of my cars are now over 5 years old (my T-maxx
which is now an E-maxx is 6 years old) and there have been times where I
haven't used some of them for close to 2 years.  When ever I dig one out of
the cupboard after that long I'm real glad I never sold it as it would cost
so much more to replace it...

I dont plan to sell mine ever, plus once I get older and have kids, they can
drive them :)   (and if I'm still keen can drive with them)

Hey Dre,

I have had second thoughts about selling it. Less than $400.00 for a
car that kicks @rse like this one? I don't think so.

This weekend I'm off to the Gold Coast RC Car Club track. I can get
more than $400.00 worth of enjoyment from keeping it and driving it.

Thanks for your input. It helped me remember why I bought and built it
in the first place. I might go and get a Pro4 chassis and transfer the
goodies over to it. That would be a real monster of a car.

Cheers,

Trevor

Just remember that if you store it for any long period of time, to charge
your batteries atleast once a month........

Good work :)

Its not worth $400, its worth more, but its hard to get that on ebay.  At a
club maybe, but like you say, driving it is much more fun :)

Re the Pro 4, they are a VERY nice ride, maybe in a year or so when they get
a bit cheaper I'll add one of those to my collection (have a Pro 2, Pro 3
and a Rally that is pretty much Pro 1 spec)

The 3 is a nice chassis as well, allthough a little compromised with respect
to the battery running right down the center.  Do you have trouble with your
battery wire routing fouling against the steering linkages??

Oh and if you get the graphite main chassis and upper deck, the thing gets
VERY VERY RIGID, much much more than the original tub chassis.  The graphite
main chassis is bloody thick!

Even if you do get sick of it and moth ball it for a year or 2, bet you'll
have eyes like dinner plates when you unpack it remembering all the things
you've done to it :)  Plus it'll still be competitive for years to come!

Cheers Dre
