Landed on the edge of a kerb from about 6 feet in the air, Sav stopped
*dead* titanium sparked a lot and soaked it up nice :-)  Then I drove off
and did some more jumps, till I ran out of fuel because I'd forgot to take
it with me...

Pretty pointless post really, group is a bit dead.

How's everyone going?

Nothing much here...
Slowly building a brand spankin' new Savage from scratch.
Waiting on my HD silver center bones (actually were pretty hard to locate
them)

Lots of plans for other RC stuff, but, currently no extra $$$$$.
(How it usually goes!)

Lemme know how the HD stuff works out for ya.  I tried HD bones and cups all
around and found that they wore twice as fast as the stockers believe it or
not!  The tranny cups and diff cups were notched badly within a gallon, and
the center shafts were squared off badly as well.  The differential
outdrives soon followed, maybe within 2 gallons or so.

I have been running the hardened cups on the diffs for some time with the
regular bones and they seem to have faired a bit better than the stock cups.
They have ever slightly notched. The stock bone " T " seems to have wore
more than the cups. Will see how it goes with hardened bones as well.....
Probably the only real hardened cup you would actually need, or the cup that
I have seen wear out the most,or fastest, is the front tranny cup.
The only reason I ordered the HD center bones was really because all the
parts I had to rebuild a new Sav were HD except for the center.
I just couldn't stand having all HD all around except for the center. Plus
it's a purty shiney silver that will look sweet and match the rest!  =)
Picky me I guess.

Oh, I forgot, I do not know how the rear tranny stock cup holds up as I have
always had a dual disc brake setup with steel cup from day one.

I went with HD purely for the vanity factor!  LOL.  I must have got a bum
batch or somethin' if you've had good luck with them.  I just ordered a
shitload of regular-duty cups last week for the Sav and when they run out
perhaps I'll give the HD stuff another go.

My bud just called and he's coming over with his new MGT 4.60SE to bash
around the yard.  It's BIG!  It's LOUD!  It's SLOW!  I've always driven the
biggest stuff and now that he's king o' the largeness I suspect he'll be on
a seek and destroy mission. <I have been known to drive over his stuff on
occasion in the past so methinks revenge is forthcoming>  I think I'll fire
up the Kanai 3 and just run circles around him!  The MGT is slower than my
Sav which tops out in the high 30's, so the 60mph Kanai should be able to
stay out of it's way!
