Great plan. Reading up on this stuff is bookoo helpful.

I have all of my support equipment, spare parts and tools in a few toolboxes
like this one:

I have one box for my buggy and truggy and another for the Savage. When I
go racing or to the park I just grab the appropriate toolbox and throw it
and whatever vehicles (no bag or hauler for the vehicles themselves) I'm
running in the back of my SUV. I keep my radio in a padded, aluminum case
designed to carry handguns (works great!). I have been thinking about
grabbing a car hauler like the one you linked to more to keep the dirt and
goo off my upholstery than anything else. I throw a blanket in the back to
keep the dirt in order but it still needs to be vacuumed afterwards.

Hey yeah, nice tool kit !! That's a good idea. I might check that
option out.
Yesterday I went and checked out one of the exact same race trailer
that I posted in that link. Its pretty sweet but really you are paying
for the blue outside casing, which does come with the suitecase type
wheels and retractable handles like you get on luggage. The draws in
it are just cardboard which I thought was pretty lame. I can't see
that lasting the long term. And there are not compartments, which
means you ultimately have to end up buying some kind of toolkit or
compartmentalised case anyway.
I'm thinking of custom building something out of pine wood. A bit of a
cross between the toolkit you showed me and the race trailer in that
link. Something with the drawers and compartments for tools and
pieces, plus the luggage type wheels so it can retract up to fit in the
car boot but its wasy to get around with.

Probably not, but you'll get it in time :-)

Well I went out on the weekend and found something made by Stanley that
was exactly like this (below) It would have been PERFECT except it
wasn't wide enough by only 1-2cm. Bummer. Personally I feel something
like this is probably the best thing you can get.

Stanley website also has a great range of alternatives although it
seems none of them get wider than 381mm which just isn't wide enough
for my 1/8th car.

I think now I'll resort to building a custom race trailer.
