I've been looking at this clutch:

and was wondering if anyone knows what springs come with it? I noticed
that Tower has both 1mm and 1.1mm listed. Also, are the aluminum shoes
heavier, thus causing the clutch to engage earlier? Any help on this
subject will be appreciated. .

The smaller springs will engage quicker, and the alu shoes will engage with
more bite. What is it you're looking to run it on?

I'm almost positive this comes with the 1.0 mm springs as these were
standard on the MBX-4.  Mugen's Carbon shoes are AMAZING.  I run them with
1.0 springs in every nitro I own (Savage, Mayhem ST and Kyosho MP7.5 Kanai
3).  They have incredible bite and durability.  I have found that the carbon
shoes have just as much bite as the aluminum shoes and are much nicer to
your clutchbell and flywheel.  For the cost of aluminum shoes, I'd rather
run thru 4-5 pairs of the carbon shoes as the performance is pretty much
equal.

Thanks, while We're at it, , ,how often do shoes need to be replaced? On
the Mungen AND typical Revo, MGT stock shoes? Any ideas, My MGT and My
kid's Revo have about a gallon each run through them. Thanks.

It really varies based on the engine/gearing/clutchspring/wheel + tire combo
and how/where you drive it.  Expect them to last anywhere between 2-7
gallons.  You'll know they're ghandi when your engine starts to rev w/o
producing any power.  From personal experience:

1) Stock shoes on Savage S-25 w/ stock springs --> lasted 7 gallons
2) Stock shoes on Sportwerks Mayhem ST w/ stock springs (Mach .26) -->
lasted 2 gallons
3) Mugen carbon shoes on Sportwerks Mayhem ST w/ Mugen 1.0 springs (Mach
.26) --> lasted 3 gallons
4) Mugen carbon shoes on Kyosho Kanai 3 (Mach .26) w/ Mugen 1.0 springs -->
2 gallons and still fine
5) Mugen carbon fiber shoes on Savage S-25 w/ Mugen 1.0 springs--> 5 gallons
and still in great shape

Generally speaking, vehicles with a transmission have better clutch shoe
life, whereas vehicles with a center diff have poorer clutch shoe life.
There tends to be much more slippage (hence wear) with center diffed vehix
d/t the taller initial gear ratio.
