I cant help with your question, but I allways thought that the original
chassis plates looked stronger than the X plates. HPI made the diffs etc
easier to get to but IMHO made the truck weaker.
When I smashed my Savage into a steel pole (allmost at full speed), it bent
both my plates. I replaced them with new ones, but the old ones I kept. I
then put each one between to big bits of steel, and gave them the biggest
smack with the biggest hammer I could find at the time. Result? 2 straight
chassis plates which I've kept as spares...
I'd give the bent one a smack between some smooth but solid bits of steel
for the time being, then maybe look for some titanium ones... Dan??

Yea I've heard of the X plates been weaker than the stockers. As far as
lowered go, yup, there are lots and lots available out there, and extended,
and titanium (which you will *not* break). Personally, I lowered the ride
high of my Savage using softer springs and have stock height Hardcore Racing
Titanium TVPs (and Ti rollbar, engine plate, skids etc.... basically I have
a Ti fetish :-) ). If you want lowered CG TVPs again, FLM make them (fast
lane machine) both extended and standard length I beleive, also a guy on
www.savage-central.com called twisted-toys makes some *very* good bits
including lowered CG TVPs for good prices. Also,
http://www.atomrcproducts.com/ have the full FLM range.
For now though, till you replace them, smack it straight with a hammer, it
makes sense :)
