Email to my LHS:
OK, I can't take the pain any more. I can't eat, sleep or speak. Each
time I go out and see a truck on the road I start to shake and cry, before
collapsing like a big wobbling idiot on the ground. All my friends laugh at
me - I keep making monster truck noises in the office, I have even painted
my my mouse orange, attached some mini wheels and a MacDonald's straw for an
aerial. Last night, in bed with Claire, I tried to find her pull start, I
even had a litre of Nitro ready to go - she was not amused...clearly things
can't go on this way!
Please get her ready to go, I will be collecting in the next two hours!!!
I presume you will be more than happy to give me your web price? :)
Considering this is my third MAJOR purchase in TWO weeks, and considering I
ALSO have my eye on the Schumacher Havoc :)
This is the baby I want today though, I'm going to call her Rachel:
[insert picture of MTA4 here]
Can you give me the bit I need to start drilling her immediatly?
Thanks be onto you sir!
Gary.

Hahah nice dude. And it comes with the required parts for drilling ;-)
Good choice, it's always good to buy something your LHS stocks as well
because even though spares are cheaper online, sometimes you need them
urgently.
You'll love the sound of the MTA shifting gear.

I know I have sort of gone against the group advice of getting the savage,
but I did loads of reading other forums and review sites, and the one thing
going for the MTA is that for a noob, it's the easiest to maintain and
access all the bits...
I am more than happy to buy another truck on a month or two, and for some
reason the Schumacher Havoc won't leave my thoughts!!!!
Will get the duck tape and video cam attached ASAP!
Gary.

The MTA is a fine vehicle and is a LOT easier to work on for a newb. The
Savage is a PITA sometimes - it's the design that makes it hard to work on,
but also gives it it's strength. The MTA is *very* tough though and as a
newb you'll think you're bashing it hard when really - you'll be like only
giving half the abuse it can take ;-) Give it a month or so before you
really see just how tough these things are. By some odd coincidence my mate
just picked up a second hand MTA for £80, in need of a few parts and
repairs - we've got most of the spares together and the LHS does have some
TTR spares so we're hopeful of striking it lucky in a run this afternoon...
Good luck with it dude. And get some pics up :D May I recommend as a first
mod 23mm hexes and some Cheyenne (I think they're the ones) wheels with Big
Joe tyres - they look SWEET on an MTA.

Any links you hve to these items are appreciated, I will ask the guy at the
LHS too :)
Are wheels easy to replace?

Yea just unbolt the old ones and bang the new ones on. 23mm Hexes are just
bigger adaptors, stock is a 14mm hex in the wheel can strip easier than the
23's.
http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=24163
pair of the wheels.
http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=14367
pair of the tyres for the wheels.
http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=ShowSpecification&ItemID=20650 and
you'd need 2 pairs of these :-) And probably the 23mm wrench.
As you can see, not cheap. But, they'd look cool, and the stock MTA has
HHUUUUGGGGEEE thick tyres that are really bad for the handling in my
experience, lot of body roll - but they do soak up landings from big air and
again are possibly better for a newb.
