Just snagged a Hyper 8 roller (Which I have and have already built and
driven) used off of ebay, and got the kid an Ofna Pro MBX with a
2-speed tranny on it's way, also from ebay.

Honest, it wasn't my fault. . .

Damned muscle spasms on the trigger finger huh?  Mine only seems to twitch
when the mouse cursor is over the "Buy It Now" button.  I'm about to have a
series of oopsies myself, prolly within the next week or so.  My shopping
list:

1. Engine for Savage (still haven't decided which, leaning towards STS .30)
2. Alu shoes for said engine
3. Tuned pipe for said engine
4. New wheels and tires for the Mayhem ST
5. Nova head for buggy
6. Nova head for new Savage motor
7. Panther low profile Komodo Dragon MT tires for buggy
8. OFNA MT splits (full offset) for buggy; gunna turn it into a muggy
9. Aluminum shocks for Savage

Just ordered $80 worth of Mayhem parts from Horizon.  I've been eating thru
clutchbells, clutchbell bearings and clutch shoes like sh.t thru a goose
lately.  Averaging 1/2 gallon before all of those listed parts are ghandi.
Soooooo, ordered a 13T Ti clutchbell, Mugen Alu shoes, and some decent
bearings for it.  Also ordered some front upper a-arms (current ones are
pretty wobbly d/t age), front steering knuckles (extra set to have on hand,
used my last spare this PM during "NitroFest".  Also ordered a few shim kits
for clutchbell and diffs.  All those little bits sure do add up fast!!

Had a blast this PM.  Ran a quart thru the Mayhem ST and my bud ran his MGT.
He's finally got it tuned right (likes HOT plugs!) and it was running like a
sonafabiyatch.  Only casualties were a steering knuckle on my Mayhem when I
hit the ramp too hard, too fast and actually clipped the side of my garage
coming down from the flight and the clutch shoes which were pretty well gone
as well.

DON'T get Alu shocks - they're nothing but trouble, even the HPi ones.
Stick to stockers.  The Hong Nor Long Life alu clutch seems to be holding up
nicely with my STS.

Nice :-)  We raced my mates Hyper 21 8 Port powered Sav and another mates
stock .21 powered MGT against my STS .30, 18/48 geared Sav.  That was quite
funny.  So much power I didn't wheelie, just span all 4 wheels and left
black marks on the carpark.  Naturally, I won, by quite a way ;-)

My cheapo roller and 23mm hexes with various tyres should be arriving tmrw,
preparing for project tarmac racer...

Erm, why is that??  Whats trouble about them?

The HPI alu ones I got have been *beautiful* and smooth ever since I
installed em.  I've never ever had any trouble with HPI shocks and would
recommend them in an instant.  Mine still seal perfect from new and dont
have any air in them.  Most stock shocks are crap imho!

Plus the alu ones look awesome!

Cheers Dre

<snip>
I also forgot to mention, they are adjustable so no more of those stupid
shock spacers, just turn the adjuster and your done!

Oh right, I've just seen that many dead ones (inc nearly a full set of HPi
ones) that I can't help but think they're crap :-)  Plus, the whole time
I've had my Sav, I've only killed 3 stock shocks - which I think is pretty
good.  I would say tho, if you do get them, the HPi ones would be the ones
to get.  Or I beleive the Hot Bodies ones with the HPi shafts put in are
quite good.

I've never killed a HPI shock!  So your record of 3 is pretty bad IMO!  But
then all mine are aluminium :)

I wouldn't touch the Hotbodies with gloves on.  On my zilla, 4 of them had
oil all over them and 6 out of the 8 had air in them, I have rebuilt all 8
and we'll see how long they last.  Hot bodies plastic is sh.t compared to
HPI stuff...

HPI definately make the best shocks IMHO and I highly recommend them!

Cheers Dre
