Sorry for being a complete and utter newb, these questions must make you
guys laugh :)
BUT
I have not yet used the new truck, it has TWO SPEED and REVERSE apparently.
I am unsure what to do with regards to driving it. If I go fast, and lets
say I want to STOP the truck - hard - should I just let the trigger on thr
gun go, or do I need to push it in the opposite direction (Which I thought
might be reverse?) - I presume if I hammer it into reverse whilst it's going
forward, the same rule that applies to a real car applies here? Will it
break?
I have never used the gun & wheel style control system before and want to
make sure I do this right...
Gary.

Pushing it in the opposite direction is the brakes. There is a button on
the tranny for shifting it into reverse. DO NOT PUT IT INTO REVERSE WHILST
GOING FORWARD AND VICE VERSA - THIS WILL KILL THE TRANSMISSION :-) To be
honest, reverse is just a dead tranny waiting to happen - I'd strongly
recommend the Forward Only Conversion (FOC). Available from
www.jespares.com.

Hmmmmmmm, 15 gallons on my Savage reverse and no problems so far. I think
most people kill em' by doing rolling gear changes from forward to reverse.

No question is a stupid question for anyone that is new to the hobby. After
many years of experience with RC Cars, Trucks and Planes, I am currently
teaching myself to fly helicopters and I feel like a complete idiot. Total
cost after buying the heli is $60 worth of damage in less than 5 days fly
time.
Your correct, pushing your finger away from yourself is the brake control.
The brake on the truck is completely variable and is located at the front of
the transmission and looks similar to a 1:1 scale car or motorbike disc
brake set up.
Just be careful of the new brakes on your truck, going from full throttle to
full brakes can some times make the truck flip over forward.
Your reverse switch should be just below your thumb on the control and once
engaged will work the exact same way forwards works on the controls
(throttle and brake). Like Dan said make sure the truck is completely
stopped before putting the truck in reverse and the same goes for putting it
back into forward again. You probably find when your learning that its
handy to have reverse but as you become more experienced you can live
without it.
I personally don't like reverse on anything except my Rock Crawler. I don't
have it in my Savage but the missus likes having it in her Tmaxx because she
is always running into things and the same thing goes for our Mini T's, mine
doesn't and her does have reverse.
Cheers
