Need some help with my first modification to the MGT - it's a tad unusual I
bet!
I would like a Digital Camera mount which will hold on tight to a Samsung
D600 mobile phone.
I have lost / damaged about 6 of these phones this year (I have Insurance),
and the phone is currently on its knees again - it's a wreck and an upgrade
is imminent. However, it shoots excellent video at 30fps, and I can fit
around 10 minutes on the handset just now, but with an upgraded mem card,
the skies the limit.
The phone is prone to software errors etc, but is very very very robust from
a physical point of view. It will take a beating all day long.
I don't mind damaging the phone in the process of making it "clampable".
The phone will be facing towards the back of the car, in it's tallest
position - the Camera lens (On the back of the handset) will be facing the
front of the truck...
Any ideas? I am so crap at DIY - if you can think of anything at all - im
all ears.
Gary.
PS - I already have my eye on an Action Camera which would be a doddle to
mount, £150 though - why bother.

Tie wraps. And lots of them :) A proper RC toolkit can never have too many
tie wraps, and contrary to popular opinion, a tie wrap fix is not a bodge,
but is in fact the way god wants things done.

I've been considering doing something like this for a long time with a cheap
wireless camera off ebay and record it to my laptop. I don't like the idea
of strapping a digital phone that will probably cause interference to the
radio in my car.
