I have a hyper7, and am wondering what others here run in their buggy's diffs, ,, front, rear, and center. Rougher tracks like lower rated diff oils and smoother tracks higher rated oils, try 3k front, 7k centre, 1k rear. I hear thats usually a good starting point (it's been a while since I set up a buggy mind you!). As to the rest of the setups it depends on your track and your driving style. I don't really have a track to run on yet, still working on that, but since I live in Alaska, it will be mostly sand/gravel, ,, very little topsoil and NO clay up here. . You run a spool in the front of your kanai? Not a spool. Positraction aka Limited Slip. Allows slip to a certain extent then it retards the slip via "clutches" inside the diff. Agreed, while there is a noticeable difference between greased and oiled in the Savage, the difference between weights isn't as noticeable as it is on a lighter, more nimble, center-diffed vehicle. Doc I put 5k in all three, because at the time I didn't want to buy three different oils, for the cost. Works decent enough. Of course I have been known to just slap a bit of moly grease in there as well (enough to coat the gears good) with no other oil. It works well to, just don't over do it with the moly grease. Easy to create a posi effect with grease.
