Does anyone have experience with one of these? Speed, learning curve,
durability, etc.

Thanks,

Jack

Hi Jack,

I've got the earlier model, the thunder tiger fm1e. The speed depends
on what motor you put in it, Mines EP but a friend has the nitro
version and it runs great.
At full tilt you probably couldnt get around a track faster than a 1/10
car due to the need to slow down more to corner and stuff but they are
very fast.

Learning curve is, as you'd expect more than a car, it's completely
different to driving a car but you get the hang of it pretty quickly.
there are heaps of minor but significant improvements to handling you
can do to a 'out of the box' unit. have a look on the rcgroups.com
motorcycles forum, theres a wealth of info there.

Durability is great, I've smashed mine at approx 40kph into a vertical
gutter and the front tyre disloged and that was about it. It's possible
to bend the chassis on them with the really nasty tumbling stacks but
they're pretty easy to fix and hop-ups are available if you want to
improve it instead of fix it.

I can recommend getting one, it's great fun!
