Anyone tried doing this?
i broke the steering bell crank with some bad landings, my first
attempt at trying to jump the lst2 i thought this thing was though i
end up breaking something every time i drive it!

2 pics the broken part and after its glued

i cleaned up the 2 surfaces with some metho and a toothbrush then
droped a bit of super glue on and stuck em together, it seems pretty
strong hold but i havent taken it for a drive yet. will do this arvo

My superglue attempts have never worked, they tend to give up on the
slightest force upon them. Still it's work a try.

I've used zipties more effectivly than CA glue.  LOL it was on the
tranny brace for an RC10GT

I took it for a successful run sort of. until somethin else broke half
way through a tank! damb lst2

im not sure yet havent pulled it apart either a clutch spring went or
one of the clutch bearings but the superglued steering bellcrank held
up well

Yep, that's why I like rock crawlers - too slow to break.

ASCII a silly question, get a silly ANSI.

Bah, your just not doing it right :)

If your not ripping rocks out of the ground, back flipping due to too much
power/too steep or not getting any air off the top of the hill your climbing
your just not holding your mouth right :)

My rock crawler breaks plenty enough, but then I'm starting to thing I
*crawl* rocks a little differently to you, LOL!

I said that while crossing my fingers.  My TXT-1 "crawler" hasn't even
managed to crawl out of its box yet!  I'm still in the acquisition stage
with most of the electricals still being planned:

1. Novak Super Duty XR ESC - doesn't seem to be much else out there or
at least the SD seems to get all the press.

2. Twin Hitec HS-5955TG servos for 4x4x4 - seems to be the popular
choice of servo for serious rock crawling - 333oz (24kg) of torque!

3. MRC Super Brain 977 charger (does two batteries at once and supports
Li-Po) and a few 3000mAh Venom batteries.

Just waiting now to see what sort of deals I can get out of Tower
Hobbies - hoping Christmas brings some specials!

My second truck will probably be a revo or a savage. parts are so damb
cheap and easy to get hold of compared to my lst2.

I fixed my lst2 this arvo cost me $2, one of the bearings seized up, i
couldnt get it off the drive shaft, after prizing it off with a screw
driver it was rusted on, maybe why it seized huh. damb water!

I must be holding my mouth right, i rip rocks out the ground, get air
off every hill i climb altho it wont wheel stand. I played with the lsn
a little now it takes off like someone put a firecracker up its a.s but
still wont wheel stand.

:)

I've seen pics of your truck allthough I dont know much about it.  Right
off, the first thing I noticed was it looks kinda like a truggy as opposed
to a monster truck like a Savage/T-maxx.   Ie, it handles like its on rails,
but because of its "stance" its not really setup to wheelie.  Like trying to
wheelie an Inferno, pretty much impossible.  Savage's sit real high and have
a lot of weight up high, plus if you stiffen the shocks you end up with a
very high rigid chassis, perfect for wheelies...

Just my 2c

The foks at lstforums claim it wheel stands stock. I think its just
that im a noob at tuning these engines and i dont havent had anyone
experienced show me yet. Ive been winging it so far :)

Yesterday i took it to a park that had these garden things in the
middle which made good jumps, they were about 1/2m high. The lst took a
bad nose dive and snapped my super gluing, i was amazed how well it
stood up it took a few tumbles before snapping. I would definitly
recommend super gluing if you cant wait for your parts in the mail!

I have been playing with the lsn and idle a little  because it was
idling so high engaging the clutch sometimes and it idles all weird
now. sometimes fast, sometimes slow its all over the place. The engine
hasnt drunk much fuel its had almost 3 litres through it. Any tips on
setting the idle would be good.

Fair enough, I've never even seen one of these things run, so I was just
going by what I saw, still, IMO it would be a hard truck to wheelie due to
its setup...

I use Araldite (I prefer the 24 hour version for strength but you can get a
5 minute version as well) if I have to repair something.  It take a little
longer to cure than Super Glue but it will usually bond it more permanently.
There is also some other stuff that is a lot more expensive that we keep in
the 4x4 just in case crack a radiator when we're 1000 k's from no where and
this stuff is a lot more of a permanent bond.

Plasti-Bond is one of them and usually sets hard in about 15 minutes and the
other for metal is Need It.  Both need a blow torch to remove them to be
repaired properly, but they always get us out of trouble.

Cheers
