plastic tooth servo versus metal

someone told me that the metal geared servos have a slower response time
than the plastic ones.  I was going to opt for metal purely on the basis of
build quality and impact resistance.

I think they were over-simplifying

Hi TORQUE servos are generally slower that standard or high-speed
servos. People often think of metal gear servos as high-torque, but as
you can see from the link above, high SPEED srevos come with metal
gears also. as for impact resistance, metal gear servos are pretty
much standard, nylon gears dont hold up well, in the case of them
being used for steering, which is what I assume is what you need the
impact resistance for.
