And hooooollllllleeeeee shhhiiiiiiiiiittt it went hard.  Been a while since
I've had a steer of it.  I believe I have successfully blown the cobwebs
out, hehehehe!

Anyway, I put a tank through it and when I got it back I went to check to
see if the piston was a TDC (habit from run-in).  The flywheel and clutch
bell were FEECKING hot.

I dont remember clutch bells and flywheels getting that hot or am I tripping
out?

Fair enough, to be totally honest, I cant remember ever touching it (cept
during runin which was AGES ago)...

Truck didn't seem to have any clutch slippage that I could tell, it launched
hard every time and sounded normal.

I must be tripping out, LOL!

Oi Dre, You seen the Nitro Bashers web site here in Perth.  The bunch of
psycho's had a huge motorcycle jump out on Sunday and they were destroying
trucks left right and centre.  If you get a chance drop in and checkout some
of the movies.

I have never really checked the temp at the flywheel but being connected to
the main shaft of the motor I can understand how it could get hot.  If the
main bearing on the motor or the bearings in the clutch bell are nuked that
could cause a little excessive heat too as could buggered clutch shoes
dragging.

Nope, but keen though, got a link???   (nitrobashers.com??)

Bearings are all good as I had the clutch apart a while back.  I kinda would
expect it to get hot as well cause like you say its part of the engine, but
it just surprised me how hot it was....

I might take the Inferno out for a razz and see how hot it gets.

Nice, I did try and check it out last night, but got sidetracked.  Its at
the top of my list though.

When I quickly looked yesterday I noticed some Tassie members too!  Sick!
Might see if I can hook up with them for a bash!

indoor carpet racing.

Health and safety!?!?!?  Nope not that I know of, but then I'm keen to run
off road outside so I guess the only thing I need to worry about is a flying
truck hitting me in the head, LOL!

Insurance of indoor carpet racing, nuts!  What are they worried about?
Burnt fingers due to hot motors?  LOL!

Is that in the UK?  I think you only need insurance when you're racing at a
club - and most clubs have membership fees that cover it as far as I know.

it is indeed the uk.  club membership is approx £12 per club.  insurance is
another £12 but is transferable to other clubs and covers nitro too. If you
sign up independent of a club its an extra £2.  3 million of third party
cover.

my heli insurance is £25.

Ahhh, 3rd party cover, now that makes sense, bloody public liability!
