I could be wrong, but I beleive the axles are different for the X and the
original.  But yes, if you had 17mm Hexes you could use the Warlock wheels.
I don't see why they wouldn't fit, except you'd need 2 'wrong way round'
nuts because the X axles are all just standard threads now - so those nuts
would only fit one side.

Yep, spot on.

I've actually just fitted a set of those 17mm hubs to my Savage, the ones
with the thicker axles just like an Inferno.  Now both have the same
mountings so I can muck about swapping wheels etc.

I also installed the radio box from a Savage X, fits perfect with no mods
and sh.t ME IT IS SO EASY TO GET THE LID OFF!!!!!  No more body pins, I
HIGHLY RECCOMMEND IT!!

Oh and I now have a set of Blast tires fitted to Goliath rims on the Savage,
HUUUUUGGGEEE!!

Oh and oh, I've now got my Savage nailed as far as tune and handling.  Its
awesome now.  Did the hugest wheelies I've ever done last week end.  Only
reason I stopped was cause I ran out of carpark, LOL!

Also just picked up a 4 shoe Werks clutch for it, see how it goes, should be
a bit of fun!

Cheers Dre

Yeppers.  I use the HPI 17mm hexes and nuts on my Mayhem ST and they are
excellent in quality and function.  I also run Dirt Bonz tires on my Savage
and Mayhem ST and can't say enough good things about them.  You will notice
a HUGE improvement over the stock Savage 25 tires.

Dan is right however............you'll need to swap out the wheel axles on
the left side of the truck (the silver ones) as they are reverse threaded
and will not work with the HPI 17mm wheel adapter nuts.

You only need 2, but ordering a set of 4 is good cause you'll have a few
extras handy.  BTW, the item I sent you is listed by plcman1, who is one of
the FINEST sources of Savage bits on e-gay..............and yes, he does
ship internationally.

I agree, I've also bought some parts from him!

Btw, Doc, get a Savage X radio box for your Savage, you wont look back, no
more body pins!  The lid is also bigger which makes getting it off and on so
easy.

I was thinkin' about doing that, but I run a 5-cell hump pack with a charge
lead and never really have to open the battery box for
anything..........plus I have the clear lexan lid for the "old skool"
battery box painted bright silver and it adds a bit o' bling!  Next time I
need a battery box though, I might just upgrade.

Yeah no worries, the newer box has a rubber plug and a hole and mount
especially for the charge lead.  I'm stocked with mine, totally, its a very
very good improvement over the standard unit....

But hey, if you've got the lexan lid it might be easier to get off...

I wanna try out my new 4 shoe werks clutch, but haven't had time to install
it yet.  Be nice to get consistant launches, atm, I get 90% consistant
launches, the other 10% are a little boggy.   More tweaking required!

The one thing I'm likely gunna do with xome x-mas bucks is upgrade to the X
tranny case so I can adjust my three speed without dissassembling half the
farkin truck.  I've been wanting to throw some Pro-Line 40-series BowTies on
her for yonks but I refuse to retune the damn 1-2 shift they way she sits
now!

Don't think the X tranny case allows that does it?

The top of the X case pops off so you can remove the main shaft (which then
needs to be disassembled to get to the 1-2 clutch).  Still a PITA but at
least the TVP's and gearbox don't need to be pulled!
