IME it's WAY further than that, but unfortunately, I only have the stock
human eyes so can't drive accurately at any more range :-)

Agreed. I've had my 75Mhz systems a good half click away and had to turn it
back towards me as it was getting hella difficult to see at that point!

And the rest. My standard HPI equipment will drive out of sight. I live next
to a 2 mile strecth of grass. I can drive it out of sight and turn it
around. Even better I done it with the battery low flashing :) Maybe next
time I try it I'll have a failsafe for peace of mind ;)

Generally speaking, with fully charged tx and rx batteries and no
interference, your car's effective range of control will exceed that of your
eyes. Exact numbers are difficult d/t a huge number of
variables...........but a safe guesstimate would be 1-1.5km.

It depends on where you live as well. I live in Baltimore City......with a
AM radio I'm lucky if I get 150 feet with an electric vehicle, Nitro seems
to be much less. The FM's seem to give much better performance with my
Nitro's. On my Titan, I had to get off any AM system because I could get 20
feet away and I'd end up in a wall somewhere no matter which
channel/receiver combo I used. The Spektrum is best though.... I wish I had
the cash to switch all my RC's to spektrum, but I can't afford to purchase
about 4 systems along with about 8 additional receivers.
