Hey everyone, been reading past post but haven't found one to help with
the problem we are having.... I bought my husband a Cen Magnum for
Christmas and we have sucessfully started it three time. We can no
longer get the thing to start up. We have tried numerous new glow
plugs, charged the ignitor, used fresh fuel and nothing is working. Its
cranking when we pull start it but not catching. The last time he was
driving it around it just cut off and since then it hasn't started. We
are super beginners but we are ready to learn... Its just feeling like
a $300 waste right now! He really wants to get into this as a hobby but
the car is not cooperating!
Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can give!

Hi Rebecca
Maybe it would be a good idea to go at the local hobby store and ask some
advice. Most people working there would be more than happy to help you .

As Clarence said, it would be best to have someone knowledgeable actually
able to tinker with it in person as it's hard to diagnose things like this
over a newsgroup.
It sounds like you've already covered the basics in that you've eliminated
the fuel and glow plug as possible sources.
The fact that it suddenly quit and won't restart worries me! He might have
been running it too lean and hot and the engine internals might have puked.
Were you running a temp guage of some sort to help you properly tune the
engine? You also might have a fuel blockage somewhere (you can check by
popping the fuel line off the tank and blowing into it while holding the
carb open to see if you can hear your breath whistling thru the carb).
Other than a blown motor or fuel blockage, I'd really need to get my hands
on it to be of more help. On that note, I've been thinking lately of
opening a web-based r/c repair shop, where folks with no local hobby support
can mail busted stuff and get it back fixed and perfectly tuned for a very
reasonable fee. Care to be my first customer? ;-)

Doc
