I live in Saugerties, NY and have been out of R/C for a few years.. well
i pulled my models out of the closet the other day and want to get back
into it but.... where is everyone!?!?!? I see no-one around here running
r/c anything! the nearest track is about 45 minutes away. I run all
electric models right now; Traxxas 4-tec, Traxxas TRX-3 and Traxxas
Rustler. When i stopped using my r/c stuff, several companies were
working on a parking lot racing type models.. low cost, effort to get
more people into the hobby what ever became of it?
Personally i think cost is still an issue.. So i went as far as to find
a chinese distributor where i can get electric and nitro powered cars,
trucks, etc for wholesale so i can sell at min. markup to make the hobby
more affordable. Found some good prices on just about all size models!.
Anyway.. i want to get something going in the area where do i start? I
am leaning towards land models, cars, trucks, etc. The question is; is
there anyone else out there in my area that is into this stuff? Email me!!

I live over in Germantown in Columbia County. The closest racing shops that
I know of are either in Albany or East Park which is south near Hyde Park.
Science and Hobby in Waterveleit has racing on Sunday. I believe the place
in East Park is called Rampage Hobby and they used to have racing on
Saturday night in Poughkeepsie but I am not sure what their schedule is
these days. There are some airplane clubs around that I know are active but
land based clubs are few and far between.

Thanks for the response.. Yea land based R/C clubs aren't around here at
all.. It's kinda sad because it's good a form of family fun. Alot better
than letting the kids stay inside glued to the console games that they
spent hundreds of dollars on plus 40-70 bux for each game.
Like i said i've even searched the web for suppliers of lowcost r/c
stuff.. and got some great suppliers lined up.. Shipping isn't too bad
considering it's coming from overseas, it's better if i buy them by the
case so the more the merrier..
