And there is a chance I'll be struck by lightning while typing this
message.
No matter how you slice it and dice it, , $600, or even $500 is a bit
steep. The radio upgrade is cool, but you can find that radio system
used, such as yours for <$100, and the truck, used for not too much
also. The problem is, that these are USED items, , and the typical eBay
assumption is that if they say "Built but never used", you can assume
used a little. If the person says "only 5 tanks of fuel ran through
engine", expect 15-20. The point is that it's still a used stock ride.
You can say "Like new", , "Never used" "Engine has been started only
twice" all you want, typical eBayers still see that as USED, especially
since the warranty may be no longer valid.
Not accepting Paypal is a deal-breaker for many people, , Checks add way
too much time to the transaction, and take away a level of security. If
I pay by a check and you rip me off, my bank charges me $18.00 to
reverse the transaction, if it's even possible. Nobody in the 21st
century wants to wait 2-3 weeks to get their item, , there are many
auctions that end well after yours that a person can get and have their
item much sooner because of the instant payment of paypal. The problem
is, if they go to those other auctions and do not win, , YOURS is
already over, so it's not even a second option.
Add to that the fact that many people won't buy, especially a >$100 item
from someone with a 0 rating.
