how many owners out there?  any of you newbies?

Most of my club who bought them are serious tourer drivers,  are already
stripping them down and upgrading.  Fans added, better radios, which means
replacing the speedos.  Standard engines either melt or bits break down.
Had a big race sunday 9 of them.  only 3 survived to cross the finishing
line in the final race.  Not nasty collisions just breakdowns.  comments?

Sorry, I was searching for a link for this to check it out but you spelled
sportwerks wrong. :-)

Looks like a nicely put together RTR and it has been getting a lot of great
reviews but I don't understand the concept of building a car for a
non-existent 1/14 scale class and, well, do we need another class to choose
from?

being aimed at the newbie racer.  complete package for £109.99  Lucky to get
a bare 1/10th chassis for that.

the 1/18th buggies and rally cars from associated are £149.99.

I've been lapped by an out of the box one in my 1/10th tc4.

I love my  Recoil. It's the best RTR product I've ever purchased. Just a
great product,at a  great  price point.

We race them here:

http://www.strictlyrc.net

They are great because they  perform  well on 1/18th scale tracks as
well as 1/10th scale  tracks.

The best Recoil forum is on rctech.net here:

Here's mine:

stock ESC/Receiver
Integy servo
Carisma 380  motor (with bored out chassis)
6 cell NIMH battery packs
also use a Thunder Power 1320 Lipo
stock spur
Carisma 14 tooth pinion
Magenta foam tires

i didn't know the supplied esc could cope with lipo?

my pack is a 7.4v not an 11 volt. I don't think the extra .2 volts is an
issue

i thought the ampage was the issue.  Those cells can really pump it out.

I take it IL is ILinois USA?  Here in the UK the distributor is horizon
hobby.  formerly Helger racing but they were bought out.

I think because the car only has a 380 motor in it all is fine. It's not
like the stock ESC is powering a low turn 540 motor.

Horizon Hobby is also the Sportwerks distributor here too. When we order
any product Horizon distributes from our local hobby shops we generally
get them in one maybe two days because it's only a few hundred miles
away from Chicago.
