Yep, sounds like you've lost a few teeth of the servo gear.
Normally you match servo's up to the brand of radio not the frequency band
of the radio. If your going to replace the steering servo then its probably
worth upgrading to a high speed, high torque servo like the Hitec HS-645MG.

Here:http://www.servocity.com/html/hitec_servos.html and here:http://
www.servocity.com/html/futaba_servos.html, you can see how servos
compare, You'll be looking for standard servo sized.
Also, notice that the MG645 is high TORQUE, but NOT high speed. It's
even slow for a high-torque servo, which are the slowest series of
servos that size. It REALLY sucks if used with a 4.8V pack IME.
It is great for a bigger, beefier truck with heavy parts, and they are
almost indestructable, but response times are noticibly slower. What
is it that this servo is out of? If it's a buggy, I'd look for a
faster, albiet lower torque rated servo. If it's a bigger monster
truck, or something that takes alot of hard hits and flips/rolls, then
the 645MG would be better.
Provided you have a decent servo-saver setup, I find that
http://www.servocity.com/html/s9402_hi-speed_mg_bb.html works better,
even though it has a lower torque rating, but YMMV.
