i was out at the track tonight (finally dried out enough to run on) and
something weird happened to my truck. i revved the engine after a turn and
there was a delay in response.  "must have to adjust my carb" i assumed.
but then when i tried to steer it there was the same delay (same time; about
a full second).  this isn't the first time this happened.  i thought maybe
my radio was jamming with someone else's but there was only one other guy
out there and he wasn't on the same crystal.  i run yellow (27.145) and he
runs brown (26.995).

any ideas?

further info:  my radio batteries were fresh and my battery in my truck was
fully charged.

Was it only happening on the same corner of the track or every corner? Only
when you turned right (or left) or when you turned both directions?

If it was only one corner on the track, did you walk up to your truck
to see if the problem was still happening in a close proximity?

Did you try different crystals?
Or just check to make sure your crystals are properly inserted in the TX &
RX.

Is the RX battery mounted in the truck solid or is it possible that its
vibrating or moving when you turn a corner? If its vibrating around in the
truck then its also possible that there is a loose connection in the RX
battery pack.

now that you mention it, the times that it happened yesterday it was only on
one corner, but the distance was only about 75 feet (and not the furthest
point on the track).

now that im thinking about it, the other guy's car that i was racing against
yesterday was right beside mine when it had the delay.  and the other week
when it happen before i was in the pit area trying to steer straight onto
the track when it "was taken over or possessed" and ran into another car
sitting on the pit area.

im running a yellow crystal but i have a set of reds in my tool box.  i
think i might switch and see if that helps.  i'll check over the other
points you suggested just to make sure (thanks for the advice on those!).

i imagine switching to a spectrum would solve my problem but i would like to
start building a buggy soon (looking at the RC8) and would like to have 2
radios so i can hand one off to a friend or family instead of one radio
controlling multiple vehicles.  this hobby is getting expensive!!

thanks for the advice.
